Andrew Brown Obituary

McCorkle Brown, Andrew

Andrew McCorkle Brown, age 22, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away peacefully at his father's home in Maplewood, NJ on December 25, 2024, after a long struggle with complications from chronic Lyme disease and related health issues. He was born on December 27, 2001, in Morristown, NJ, and lived most of his childhood in Short Hills, NJ. He attended the Glenwood Elementary School in Millburn, NJ and later moved to Weehawken, NJ to attend the Aaron School in New York, NY. In 2022, Andrew and his mother moved to Minneapolis, MN so he could attend MICC - Minnesota Independence College and Community.

Andrew made the most of his short time on Earth. He was baptized and confirmed at Central

Presbyterian Church in Summit, NJ. He earned the Life Scout rank as a member of Boy Scout Troop 17 in Short Hills. He enjoyed ice skating at Mennen Arena in Morristown, NJ, participating in youth group activities at the Central Presbyterian Church, serving as Treasurer of Student Council at the Aaron School, volunteering at Reeves Reed Arboretum in Summit, NJ and City Meals on Wheels in New York, NY, and developing his artistic talent and expressing his creative mind through various art mediums. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, tossing a football or kicking a soccer ball with his dad and brother, going on hikes, watching anime, playing video, card and board games, and spending time with his cats, Speedy and Tiger.

Andrew will be remembered as a kind, loving and selfless soul who enjoyed telling jokes to make others laugh. He was loved deeply, and will be missed greatly, by those who survive him: his mother, Amy Hull Arbetter of Minneapolis, MN; his father, Steven R. Brown of Maplewood, NJ; his stepfather, Brian Arbetter of Chicago, IL; his twin brother, Matthew Brown, a student at Eastern University of Saint Davids, PA; his stepsister, Rivka Arbetter of Portland, OR; his maternal grandmother, Betty Hull of Clinton, MO; his paternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Robert and Gerry Brown of Media, PA; his maternal step-grandfather and step-grandmother, Charles and Marilyn Arbetter of Evanston, IL; his maternal aunt, Fonda Giacoia of Sarasota, FL; his paternal aunts and uncles, Holly and Larry Draginich of

Costa Rica and Susan and Bennet Scauzzo of Radnor, PA; and his cousins, Sam Draginich (Jenny) of Luxembourg, Sarah Draginich (Alain) of Switzerland and Vincent Scauzzo of Washington DC.

Andrew was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Thomas M. Hull of Clinton, MO; his paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Doris (Brown) and Charles Mackey of Berwyn, PA; and his maternal aunt, Tyra Lou Hull of Clinton, MO.
