Andre, you and Doris left us the same year. It is hard to believe it was so long ago. You will always be with those you loved and those who loved you. You are in great company up there, we will see you again one day! Love, Anita

Some years ago now, Mr Youmara and I would ride the same bus on his trip home from work. He after being on his feet all day, I'd feel guilty sitting thru my shift. Often as not, the bus would arrive late and in the cold season even a few minutes is a long time, but he never let on any annoyance. Dignity is grace and I appreciated his.
On lucky days, he'd find a seat close by and without fail a conversation would always strike up among the riders around him. He just had that gift of easy talk, the kind with many interruptions caused by friendly laughs. As I recall those rides now, I think people comfortable with themselves make others feel the same way - comfortable.
After 20 minutes or so, we'd arrive at the last stop - the bus terminal - and say goodnights. I would watch as he walked across the street to a parked car, its driver, Mrs.Youmara waiting for him; and I would admire that. Now in my mind again, the imagery remains clear and the memory a fond one.
I wish peace to the friendly rider on the bus, and his beautiful family at this difficult time. And offer thanks for my good fortune to have known - if only slightly - such a person. I will remember him as an example of how to be a gentleman. He sure made it look easy.

Andre you were a gentleman and a scholar, with a smile for everyone. Always looking dapper. You charmed one and all.
We go back to the 50's when you arrived from Europe and worked at Smiling Joe's barber shop next door to the Biograph theater. That was the beginning, and you were on your way..
Never a bad word about anyone.
May the good Lord rest your soul in peace and comfort throughout Eternity..God Bless.
Deepest regards to Peggy..

Our condolences and prayers to the family. Andre took great care of four generations of Thompson's from my grandfather to my boys. He did it with a smile, a little wit and of course a little Cognac! He was a staple in the Lakeview community and even though we moved to Little Rock a few years ago. Every now and then one of us would say "I wonder how Andre is doing?" He touched us all in so many ways. Wallah and Au Revoir my friend!

Will always remember his charming personality, and his love of the taking the "Ladies" to Brunch on Sunday's. Not to mention all the "Great haircuts he has given to generations. We will miss you "Coiffeur Andre". Rest in Peace
