I didn't know Fr.Don all that well, even though once a year he would spend time at my grandpa and grandma's, (John "Ken" and Teresa Wickers), house. But I loved him none the less. And I hope he is watching over us now.

Whenever Uncle Don would visit the Chicago area he always made it a point to call or visit if he could. Though no longer a practicing Catholic, I always asked for his blessing before we said goodby for that blessing remains one of my fondest childhood memories. I will miss that blessing.

I always enjoyed taking Fr. Don & his brother, my dad,(John"Ken" Wickers) to the movies. Unless he didn't like the movie, even if it was his choice, then I never heard the end of it! I loved him and I'll miss him.

My uncle, Fr. Don, spent a week or two with me each time he traveled to America.I always stocked up on ice cream and can still see his impish smile when I would ask if it was time to dish it up. I enjoyed his visits very much. I will miss him.

At the party following my brother's baptism, my Methodist grandfather was hesitant to have a beer (a first time for everything) with a clergyman in the room. He had a much better view of Catholicism, as well as a cold beer, as soon as Fr. Don asked for one. My Aunt Mary swore she got pregant every time Fr. Don gave a blessing when leaving her house. What a fine man, a great life and legacy. Stehen Sie im Friedens-, gutem und zuverlässigem Bediensteten still.

I was happy to be able to visit with Fr. Amideus in Chicago, last year, at Clarence Peskac's 90th birthday, happy to have some pictures with him to remember him by, since we were both in the same grade at St. Cecilia's. Had a great visit with him.

I met Father Don at various Peskac family gatherings. He was a friendly likeable guy. Actually delightful to meet and visit with.

I thoroughly enjoyed being with Fr. Don. He would answer my questions regarding the Faith and explain why. I will miss his visits very much and I will miss talking with him. Most of all I will miss his very helpful blessings. I sure hope Fr. Don, Gary, Eileen and Gram are enjoying themselves.
