Ukman, Alvin Lewis 82, of Chicago, husband of Sheila (nee Wolin), father of Lesa (John Stiefel), Jon (Karin Brown) and Laren (John Rentas) Ukman, brother of Betty (the late Daniel) Newman, brother-in-law of the late Norma (Gene) Wynn and the late June (Milton) Silver, cousin of Gloria (Irv) Schlossenberg, uncle of the late Joel (Ellen) Newman and Wendy Newman Schwartz, Lee (Julia) Silver and Steve Silver, grandfather of Marjorie (Chuck) Beto, great-grandfather of Nicole, Rebecca and Michael Beto, and great-uncle of Alex Schwartz and Tiffany, Tabitha, Ellen and Madison Silver. Born in St. Louis and a veteran of WWII, Alvin was an avid art collector and entrepreneur who had factories over the years in Brooklyn, St. Louis, Chicago and Morristown, TN. Funeral service at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 27th, at Chicago Sinai Congregation, 15 W. Delaware Place. Interment at 1 p.m., at Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 Gross Point Road, Skokie. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Lewy Body Dementia Association, P.O. I don't know if you remember me, but we worked together and had a bunch of great times at Morrie Mages Sports.
(remember "Hellowerlevel?").
During that time I spent a night here & there at your home, and after 27 or 28 years I still have fond memories of your very generous Dad(and Mom)making me feel welcome.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. While I did not have the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ukman personally, I have heard much about him the past few days. Through the shared memories of others I have come to learn what a wonderful person he was.
