Alvin Edelman Obituary

Dear Stacy,

My family and I extend our sincere condolences to you for your recent loss. We hope you find peace with the help of fond memories of your loved one, in this your days of grief over loss of a very valuable and important person in your life.

Evvie and Will,

I know how very special your grandpa was to you both. I would love to hug you both and let you feel my heart-felt compassion for you. It's important to realize that inside each of you are some of his finest character traits anyone could possibly hope for. Alvin was the highest of all achievers and expected no less than the same from you both. He was so very proud of you, Will, for achieving Phi Beta Kappa membership; and of you Evvie, for your "save the world" attitude which you incorporated into your professional life coupled with your sweet devotion to him over the years. Rarely did a phone call to your dad pass without inquiries as to how you both were doing. As you reflect upon your memories, hold uppermost in your hearts the happier times when as a family you shared so many special celebrations together. I've heard the stories and seen some beautiful photographs of you with your grandpa. I grieve for your loss today and pray for comfort in the days ahead for Carrie and Mia as well.

Dear Leon and family,

My heart and prayers are with you as you mourn the passing of your beloved father, Alvin. Practicing law together for the past 30 years gave you rare insights into the intellectual genius you knew and loved as your "D". Alvin was a beacon of truth and integrity. Working together with you for the past 4 years at the office showed me how much you relied upon and trusted his knowledge, judgment and memories. I'll always remember how even after having a tooth extracted,with blood pouring down his face, he persevered and walked down that office hall because there was work to be done! His sense of humour was evident by that twinkle in his eye. I found it very fitting that on Pearl Harbor Day, with flags flying at half-mast, Alvin's suffering ended.
Be assured, dear Leon, how much I pray for comfort and peace for you and yours in the coming days and weeks ahead. Draw upon the wonderful memories of happier times gathered together with your family and loved ones. My sincerest sympathies pour out to you!
