Alice Graniczny Obituary

Sister Alice Graniczny (Bronisia) SSJ-TOSF entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, Third Order of St. Francis and remained a devoted member for 72 years until her death on June 3, 2005 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents Bertha (Jurek) and Stephen Graniczny, her four brothers, Alexander, Peter, Walter, and Daniel, her three sisters, Rose (Capocy), Anna (Grosscup), Evelyn Graniczny. Sister is survived by her sister Rita (Gresk), nieces and nephews and the members of the Sisters of St. Joseph, TOSF. Sister taught in Wisconsin, Indiana, and Illinois in elementary and high schools of the order. She was well known for her Home Economics Courses in the Archdiocese of Chicago. A wake service will be held at Immaculata Congregational Home, 801 W. Bartlett Rd., Bartlett, IL on Tuesday, June 7th from 3:30 to 7 p.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 7 p.m. with burial on Wednesday morning, June 8th at Resurrection Cemetery.
