Alfred Svancarek Obituary

Svancarek, Alfred Francis age 65, a lifetime area resident, passed away September 14. He is survived by his wife, Judy (nee Kyle), daughter, Meridith (Robert) Rietman of Beecher; sons, Mark (Susan) of Redmond, WA, and Michael (Kelli) of New Lenox; a sister Patricia (Dale) Humble of Girard, KS; four grandchildren, Kyle and Laura Svancarek of Redmond, VA, and Anika and Rachel Svancarek of New Lenox; father and mother-in-law Robert and Annabelle Kyle of Steger; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents Frankie and Marie Svancarek. He was co-owner of Frankies Food in So. Chicago Heights and Harvey, co-owner of CNS Construction in Steger, and co-owner of Double Action Gun Shop in Chicago Heights. He was an avid fisherman and collector of antiquities. He adored his grandchildren who knew him as "PAPA". Visitation will be Sunday, September 17th, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Hirsch West End Chapel, 1340 Otto Blvd., Chicago Heights. Funeral Mass will be Monday, September 18th, at 10 a.m., at St. Kieran Church, 700 West 195th Street, Chicago Heights. Interment will be private.
