MARCUS, MIKE, MERI, AND JUDY - I AM VERY SADDENED TO HEAR OF YOUR LOSS. AL WAS TRULY ONE OF THE MOST "REAL" GUYS I'VE EVER MET. MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO ALL OF YOU.

Judy.....
My deepest sympathy to you and the family on the passing of Al.
Words can not express my shock and sadness.
I am currently in Florida and am very sorry that I could not attend visitation, but I will remember you and Al in my prayers.
Jo Ann passed away over three (3) years ago, but her memory lives on with our 4 children and 8 grandchildren.

What a guy!
While most neighbors scared me off their lawns, Mr. Scancarek let all of us kids play baseball in his backyard, killing most of the grass around home plate and the pitcher's mound. I remember one time slamming a foul ball through an upstairs window, but he couldn't have cared less about it. ...Phew!
Another thing I remember about Mr. Svancarek was when he would light Roman Candles in the street on the 4th of July. I think every 4th of July from now on, I'll light one in my street in memory of him.
God Bless You!
