While searching for a book on architectural concrete that he co-authored I learned that Mr. Litvin had passed away. Many years ago, Mr. Litvin came to Nashville as a national expert to determine if the problems with an architectural concrete building structure were the fault of the specifications and design, or a construction error. I was the architect of the project. I remember him as deeply knowledgeable and fair. He had the respect and confidence of both parties, and his final analysis was accepted and undisputed. (Fortunately for me it was a construction method error).

To Al's family,
I am so sorry to learn that Al has died. He was such a wonderful man. My husband, Steve, worked closely with him as they shared their lives. They shared many stories with me, depicting all they did together. They had years of memories. We were all together at many ACI conventions, too. They were an amazing team and will surely be missed.
Love,
Helen Gebler

To Al's family, my depest sympathies. 39 years ago I met Al at PCA and shared an office with him. Al taught a young kid many things about architectural concrete. Al's death is a loss to our profession.
