Albert Gundlach Obituary

Gundlach III, Albert G. a man of God, a loving & devoted husband to Esther, a wise & loving father to his daughter Jodee Swanson & his sons Edwin & Evan, entered heaven on June 2, 2005 in Rogersville, Mo. Mr. Gundlach, was born August 10, 1935 and was raised in Chicago, He is the son of the Albert G. and Delores (Marcell) Gundlach, Jr. He married his high school sweetheart Esther M. Colee on September 8, 1956 in Chicago. He retired from Commonwealth Edison as a crew leader & electrical mechanic. Al was a strong believer in God and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rogersville where he was a trustee and enjoyed playing the piano at special church functions as well as for his family and friends. He was a coin collector, had a vast collection of movies, enjoyed working crossword puzzles and telling stories, especially of his younger days. But, his biggest hobby was his family. He always enjoyed listening to their stories and what was happening in their lives. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Jessica; five grandsons, Timothy, Jeremy, Aaron, Scott, Bradley, a brother Paul and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held in the Chicago area at a future date.
