Agnes Townsend Obituary

Agnes Townsend - Savannah -Agnes Townsend, 76 died January 30, 2007 in the care of Hospice Savannah. Agnes was a Screven County native that made her way to New York, where she was a house keeper for the state, and worked at Leema College until she retired and moved back down to Savannah. Agnes was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 12 years, Curtis Townsend of Savannah, two sons, Norman Woods of Yonkers, NY, Lawrence Williams of Bronx, NY; one daughter, Patricia (James) Murphy of Manhattan, NY; one brother, George R. (Sallie) Postell of Savannah; three sisters, Mary L. King and Ruth Anderson of Bronx, NY and Maggie Pittman of Savannah, six grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be at Baker Funeral Home, Monday from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Services will be Tuesday 11:00 A.M. at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Pastor Wilson Scott officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery following the service. Hubert C.
