Agnes Classen Obituary

Classen, Agnes Rose (nee Zrna), passed away October 3, 2011 at the age of 89. She is survived by her children, Carol Nies, Richard (Sandra) Classen, and Elizabeth Tempel. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank; son-in-law, Ronald Nies; her parents, Joseph and Mary, and siblings Joseph, Anne, Mary and Frances. She was loving grandmother of Kathryn (Paul) Wolyn, Ronald (Susan) Nies, Karyn (Robert) Veghte, Erica (Chad) Graves, Eric Classen and Brian Classen; great-grandmother of 10; numerous nieces and nephews. Agnes was born on a farm in North Judson, IN. She spent the majority of her adult life in Chicago until moving to Colorado in 2003. She worked for Uarco, Inc. for 23 years as a Forms Inspector. A lifelong White Sox fan (who took her kids to Comiskey as soon as they could walk) she had the good fortune to see them win a World Series before she left this earth. The farm never left Agnes as her passion for many years was tending to her prolific gardens. She was an excellent baker and once doled out homemade donuts on Halloween. She had a huge love for dogs and had several during her lifetime. She had a kind heart and would make you her friend after knowing her only 5 minutes. A memorial mass will be held at St. Richard's Church, 5030 S. Kostner in Chicago on October 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
