Abe Levy -- "Uncle Abe," to me – was a remarkable man: U.S. Army veteran; pharmacist; restaurant-owner; philanthropist; avid poker player and Cubs fan; and of course, a natural-born storyteller. One of the small consolations at this moment is that I was able to tape-record Uncle Abe in the past years, and can still listen to him telling stories about his days and nights at the S & L Restaurant, serving in the Pacific Theatre during the Second World War, frequenting the casinos of Havana in the 1950s, and generally living life to the fullest. My wife Crystal and I will miss him very much.
