A. Blondin Obituary

WORCESTER- A. Roland Blondin, 73, of 11 Marble Street, Worcester died Thursday, July 17, 2003 in Christopher House after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Florence D. (Shutts) Blondin; Two sons, Brian J. Blondin of East Hampton,CT and Jeffrey S. Blondin of Monroe, North Carolina; two daughters, Cheryl D. Connor of Worcester and Deborah L. Foley of Sturbridge; two brothers, Leonel Blondin of Strurbridge and Raoul Blondin of Grafton; three sisters, Aline Fredette and Rita Bousquet both of Worcester and Beatrice Taylor of Grafton; also survived by 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Blondin had a sister, Doris Allard and two brothers, Oscar and Rodolphe Blondin predecease him.

Mr. Blondin was born in Worcester, son of the late Joseph and Clementine (Veroneau) Blondin and had lived in Millbury for 28 years, before moving to Port St. Lucie, Florida for 7 years and returning back to Worcester two years ago. Mr. Blondin served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Blondin Graduated from Worcester BoysTrade School in Worcester.

Mr. Blondin had been employed as a Supervisor for the Jamesbury Corporation for 15 years before he retired in 1992. He previously worked 25 years Olson Manufacturing in Holden.

Mr. Blondin was a roller skater in his younger years and competed on the National lever winning several awards.

Mr. Blondin was a former member of St. Brigid's Church in Millbury and a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Worcester. He also is a member of the Auburn Elks.

Mr. Blondin's funeral will be held on Monday, July 21, 2003 from the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, (brittonfuneralhomes.com) 91 Central Street, Auburn with a funeral Mass at 10 A.M. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 53 Illinois Street, Worcester. Buiral will be at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling Hours wil be held on Sunday, July 20, 2003 from 6-8 P.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the St. Jude Children's Reasearch Hospital, Memorial /Honor Program, 1 St. Jude Place Building, Box 1000, Dept 300, Memphis, TN 38148-0552.
