Beyer, Timothy Edward

Timothy Edward Beyer, age 73, died peacefully at his home in Mt Greenwood on July 2nd after a brief battle with cancer. Tim was born 6 January 1949 in Chicago, IL, the eldest of five siblings. A lifelong resident of Chicago's South Side, Tim graduated from St Rita High School in 1966. From there, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in German from the University of St. Thomas and a Masters in Education from National Lewis University. Mr. Beyer worked in the trucking and food services industry before settling into a twenty-two year career teaching history in Chicago Public Schools. A voracious reader and student of history, Tim's great passions included 20th century American history and World War II, as well as researching the family's German and Irish ancestry.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jacqueline, and sons Keith (Kathryn), Jonathon (Donna) and Timothy Patrick. Adoring grandfather to grandsons Thomas, Sean, Casey, and Nolan. He is also survived by siblings William, Cecelia (Mark) Hochsprung, Matthew (Marge), Christopher and seven nieces and nephews. Tim was preceded in death by his beloved parents Arthur and Celeste (nee Fahey).

Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday July 8, 2022 at Curley Funeral Home at W. 6116 111th Street, Chicago Ridge from 3:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Chapel of St Rita High School at 7740 S.
