I had met Tom when I was a teenager in the 1970's at Midway Airport. I had aspirations of becoming a pilot and used to hang out at the airport.
Tom and Bob Gross took me under their wing and were so kind and helpful to me. Tom, on occasion, used to let me announce the final boarding call for some of the United flights.
I am so sad to hear of his passing as I hadn't seen him since the early 80's but always remembered him and his great humor.
My deepest condolences to his family. Rest in peace Tom!

Kevin, we are so sad to hear of "Duke´s" passing. He was one of a kind and such a gentle soul. We wish we had recently kept in touch with him. May you find peace in the memories you have of him.

Kevin, I am so very sorry for your loss and wanted to say you have friends who care about you from our class. I live far away but am sending you hugs and prayers. When tragedy happens it doesn't make any sense, and we can struggle to understand. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
