Susan Greenberg Obituary

Susan was a wonderful person ,extraordinary mother and wife...She is missed by many and I am thankful I was able to spend time with her and get to know her over the period of time that I did.

I knew Susan for a very short time while caring for Elijah and Corrina, but she touched my life in an unforgettable way. My heart goes out to her family.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Susan's passing. The memories I have of her open face, kind and shy demeanor and intense love for Lurrie and their children will stay with me always.

Please know that I'm shocked and saddened by the loss of your daughter Susan. It's every parents nightmare, losing such a young child. I remember all of the blond Greenbergs frolicking in Lincoln Park and around Parker School. Lovely memories that I will keep forever. All of the Siegels send our love and affection,

It was with such shock and sadness that I received this news. I think of your family often, and remember Susan fondly. I am so very, deeply sorry for you all. I haven't seen her of course for many many years - but I hope it helps you to know that when I picture Susan, what I see in my mind is her whole face crinkling up into a wide smile - and I am sure I am not the only one to remember her that way.

Susan's photography was a vital part of the Chicago blues scene. Her talent was immense. She and Lurrie forged a very special bond. Susan brought Lurrie back into "the light". May she rest in peace.

Susan gave so much to the blues community and had such a magnificent eye for capturing the moment, both on stage and off. Anyone who knew her could easily get a sense of her incredible warmth and unwaivering passion - both contributing to her unforgettable photos, enduring smile, and sincere personality. Needless to say, she will very much be missed. Our deepest condolences and most heartfelt prayers go out to all of her family and friends, especially to Lurrie and their beautiful Aria.

I shall never forget three beautiful little girls in the sand under a brilliant sun near Ogden Dunes a thousand years ago or so it seems. Susan will be remembered and Jessica and Georgia will carry on. With deepest affection and sympathy.

Neither the photo pits at Blues Fest nor the dark corners at Rosas's will ever be the same without Susan's effervescent, glowing joy at capturing and sharing her distinctive, distinguished images of the musicians.
