Sharon Sharp Obituary

Kip,
I was saddened to hear the news about your mom's passing. She made a lasting impression on me as a woman with great perspectives and determination. She was a leader to all women and she definately inspired me. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

I worked with Sharon during her tenure with the Illinois Lottery. A stand up lady and I viewed her as a good friend over the years. God Bless her and her family.

Laura and Kip I was so sorry to hear about your mom. What a wonderful, wonderful woman, I am so happy that we had a chance to see each other again at Aunt Helen's 90th birthday, each and every time we saw each other we would laugh and laugh, tell stories and catch up on the years gone by. My prayers and thoughts are with you both.

As we go through life we have the opportunity to spend time with so many people. Some of these acquaintenances are short term and others endure. I was very lucky to have known Sharon for 16 years. She was always very upbeat and made people feel important. Sharon will be missed by all that had the joy of knowing her.

I first met Sharon when she was appointed Director of the Illinois Lottery. From that day forward she has always been a respected and visionary Lottery enthusiast who constantly looked for improvement and challenged others to succeed. Throughout the past 20 years I had the opportunity to work with Sharon. She was an extraordinary person who was always full of life. She will be missed by all of her family and friends. However, all of her good deeds will go on.

I had the pleasure of serving with Sharon in Governor Thompson's Cabinet. She was intelligent, dedicated, friendly and a joy to be around. I also served with her as a Township Clerk and worked with her when she answered the call of her Party to run as their candidate for Illinois Secretary of State. She was a friend and I will miss her. My heartfelt sympathy to her children.

Laura and Kip - I am so very sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. I loved her for so many reasons. She was a wonderful friend - always there to counsel me when I needed to know the right way to go. Sharon was one of the most fun people I have ever known. She loved you all so much. We often shared stories of our grandchildren. I'm sad for you and sad for all of us - she certainly left her mark on all of our hearts. We will all miss her terribly.
