Cannot believe it has been Five years. I was blessed to know you as my cousin when we were growing up. You were and still are so adored and loved by us all. Often think of our conversations about everything.

So very poignant to read through these memories and see these pictures. Sarah, you were loved and adored and your sweet and fierce presence is still cherished by everyone who knew you. Five years have flown by, and also crawled by, as we've weathered so much including the loss of your guidance. Your kids are gorgeous, love prevails, your memory burns bright as a beacon. We're all just walking each other home.

My Dear, beautiful sister, how poignant to look through these messages on the two year anniversary of your leaving this world. Though your physical self is gone from us, you are with us all, every minute of every day, in our hearts, and in our minds. I see your presence in your gorgeous children, both doing fine things and full of love and passion. Our family gathers, and conjures your spirit, and we laugh and cry, and share memories freely. I'm going to have a mindful little walk and look for you in all the flowers, clouds, blades of grass, birdsong, heartbeat, and every breath. You are always with me, Sarah, always.

I am a friend of Bruce, Sarah's father. I knew Sarah through him. She was a charming, intelligent and accomplished woman who was much loved by her father. I feel this loss must be very heavy to bear. I pray that Bruce, her stepmother Claudia, her husband Paul, her two children and her brother Steve and sister Kathy find peace and healing in time.

Judy and I never met Sarah, but offer Paul our (belated, we take awhile to get to our newspapers) condolences. She seems to have been able to accomplish a great deal, so there should not be regrets on that score. If, as I gather, the children are past their adolescence, then that is a blessing too, that she could see them on the other side of that and that Paul can have their mature support now, rather than the challenge of raising/dealing with them. Now is a good time also to indulge sadness, a good basic healthy emotion.

I am so saddened to hear of Sarah's passing. I met her in 1999 while on my predoctoral internship at Ravenswood Hospital. Her calm, her centeredness, her wisdom, and her deep kindness have always stayed with me. May her memory be for a blessing.

Sarah was one of the kindest, sweetest people I've ever known. She had a gift for helping other people, and a wonderful smile and sense of fun. She and I went to high school together. I loved growing up with her and her family as dear friends. This is a devastating loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sarah and her whole family. She will be missed and remembered.

Sarah is so dearly loved by so many, and will be long-remembered as a kind, talented and intelligent woman who made the world a better place for all those who knew her. Her long and valiant journey through the cancer maze was heartbreaking, but she is surely at peace now, and would want nothing less for all those she cared for in this lifetime. May we keep the best of her spirit alive through the acts of kindness we extend to each other, and may her memory be a blessing as the rest of us walk each other home.
