Lelo, Ronald C. December 4, 2015. Age 84. Veteran of the U.S.M.C. and a retired Battalion Chief of the Chicago Fire Department. Devoted husband of Katherine M. Lelo (nee Lynch); loving father of Sharon (Bob) Capporelli, Robert (Diane) Lelo, Sandra (Matt) Ritvo, Sue Nunley Lelo, Rachel Lelo, and Ed Lelo; cherished grandfather of seven; fond brother of Cathy (Don) Blejski, Christine (Chester "Ski") Witkowski, and was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Funeral services Wednesday 9:15 a.m. at the Petkus Lemont Funeral Home, 12401 S. Archer Ave. (at Derby Rd.), Lemont. To St. Bernard Church, Homer Glen, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Ron was an avid horseman and jockey and a long time member of the I.H.H.A. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings in Ron's name may be made to the Fireman's Annuity and Benefit Fund of Chicago.
