I think of Mr.Creed often at Christmas. In 1966 I was the soloist at midnight mass. Mr. Creed was the St.Barnabas choir director. You can imagine how nervous I was-perched in the balcony with what felt like the world's eyes on me.He got me through it. Such a wonderful nice man, and great teacher. I will always have fond memories of him and that time in my life.

May God give you rest, peace and love. It was a long and difficult road and those of us whom you loved and taught, and who loved you, are and will always be, bereft. You were a large life force in this world, and you changed our world. Rest in peace, Bob. Do not have regrets...just rest. We all did the best we could.

I just learned of Bob's passing, as I had been thinking of him lately, and was wondering if he was doing OK. I only knew Bob from his days with the White Sox and Bulls, as I used to visit him in his organ perch in the center field bleachers at old Comiskey Park before many White Sox games. I was a music student at DePaul University for some of those years, and a frustrated wanna-be organist (I played orchestral instruments); I just started talking to him one day, and he was, from the beginning, warm and humorous; he used to have a lot of fun coming up with songs for various White Sox players; I recall that he would play "Alley Cat" for Sox pitching coach Ray Berres, and it would 'infuriate' Ray when Bob would play it as he (Ray)was walking to the center field bullpen. He woud throw down his bag of baseballs and stomp on his glove, and generally have a lot of fun with the whole thing. Bob was a true gentleman, and just from visiting him before every Sunday home game for about 5 years, I learned a lot about music, the music business, and a lot about human kindness. Oh, yes, I even got to meet Bob's most famous student, Denny McLain. I moved out of Chicago many years ago, and I wish I would have kept in touch. But he did touch my life, and even though I never took a formal lesson from him, he was so generous with his time whenever I would ask him a musical question.
I will miss him, but even now, I can hear his distinctive stylings in my head. Thanks, Bob, and my belated condolences to the family.

As I arrived in Chicago this week to attend another friend's funeral, I was saddened to hear of Bob's passing. Bob was my teacher in the 60's. After an almost 40 year absence, we recently corresponded and I asked him to critique my latest CD. The Creed style is evident in my musical approach and Bob showed me how to present a show tune. I have had numerous years of musical enjoyment thanks to Bob's tutoring. As I start each show with ANOTHER OPENING ANOTHER SHOW, Bob's memory will be there. I will miss his emails and advice. My sympathy to his family through loving peace.

I was so sorry to hear of Bob's death. My sisters and I took organ lessons from Bob in the late fifties and throughout the sixties. My father was the driving force for all of us taking organ lessons. He loved to hear Bob play. I stayed in touch with Bob throughout my college years until after I married and moved away from CHicago. My own sons and many of my nieces and nephews are musicians, because so many in our family grew up with some type of musical training. I will always have very fond memories of the years I took lessons from Bob. My prayers and thoughts are with all of his family. God bless.

Our families were privileged to visit with Bob and his family at his daughter's house just a couple months ago. After years of close family occasions, including several shared vacations, we had grown apart after our own Father's death. Then upon the death of our Mother, who along with my older brother and I was a student of Bob's, then later an organ teacher under Bob, we were reunited at Mom's funeral.
We were unfortunately unable to attend Bob's services due to the immediately subsequent death of our own Step Father.
Bob and his immediate family - wife Mary Ellen, daughters Diane and Carol, and sons Ken and Rick - will remain treasured friends throughout our lives.

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Bob Creed. My brother and I took organ lesson from him for many years throughout the 1990s, and he was also a dear friend of my mothers.
My prayers and thoughts are with his family throughout this time of sadness and grief. He was such a wonderful man; he will be greatly missed.

I took organ lessons from Bob for eight years and am saddened to hear of his passing. I think I took it for granted that he would always be out there ready to give me just one more lesson. He really was an excellent teacher. I look back with such fondness at the level of attention that he gave to me. He always went out of his way to make me feel like a star pupil. I still have my organ, one of Nancy Faust’s old organs, and I think of those lessons each time I sit down to play the old songs. Now I have a son and some day hope to teach him the songs that Bob took the time to teach to me. My sympathies go out to Bob’s family and friends. He will be missed.

I am very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. My prayers go out to Bob's wife and kids. I know you will miss him greatly and so will I.
He was the biggest mentor I could ever have not only in music but in many of life's lessons.
I started taking lessons in 1966 and studied with him until about 1982. He helped me prepared for all of my music endevors. I even did get to teach in his studio
with him.
He was the one who taught me how to have the discipline and deterimination to succeed in whatever I do.
I remember the thrill of sitting with him out at the organ at Comiskey Park and going to visit him at his show with AL Morgan.
I still play at Supper clubs up here in Eagle River Wisconsin and also for Church in St. Germain.
None of this would have been possible without him.
I am so glad that we have stayed such good friends and have kept in touch. I will never forget our last conversation and will cherish it forever. As I have already said he was my mentor, also a teacher, idol, friend, and like a second father to me.
Thanks Bob for everything!

I miss Bob already. He was a dear friend and teacher to me since I was eleven years old. For ten years he considered me a friend and I can hardly believe that he is gone. He was such a talented and kind man. I know we will be able to see him again one day.

Please accept our deepest sympathies. My father and I took organ lessons from Bob in the early 1960's near 95th St. & my father kept in touch with Bob through the 1970's. Bob and another local organist, Tommy Gibbons are my father's musical heros.
