Robert Beavers Obituary

Beavers, Robert E. Age 82, passed away on April 3, 2012, following a lengthy illness. He was born on March 25, 1930, to the late John and Ronette Beavers. Robert served in the United States Army Airborne during the Korean war. He was a Chicago Police officer for over 35 years and retired as Area Two Detective Commander in 1993. Robert was later appointed as Chief Deputy Sheriff (Court Services) by former Sheriff Michael Sheahan, where he worked until his retirement on June 30, 2007. Robert is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Katherine; three sons; Michael (Charlotte) Gregory (Mary Pat) and Carlos, dear grandfather of Michael II, Michele and Nakia, and sisters Grace and Gwendolyn. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; John, Ronald, and Ernest. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012, (3:00-9:00) at Greater Bethel Apostolic Church of God 2122 W. 79th St., Chicago, IL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012, 10:00 AM at the Pullman Presbyterian Church, 550 E. 103rd Street, Chicago, IL. Interment, Monday, April 16, 2012, Departure Time: 9:00 AM, Leak & Sons Funeral Home, 7838 S. Cottage Grove Avenue, Chicago, IL, Abraham Lincoln Cemetery, 20953 West Hoff Road, Elwood, IL.
