Richard J. "Rich the Barber" Capizzano passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023. Beloved husband of 61 years to the late Cookie (nee Spranze) Capizzano. Father to Jimmy, Cristie, Cindy (Don) Mayle. Proceeded in death by his parents, the late Esther (nee Segreti) and the late James Capizzano, in-laws the late Arthur (nee Spranze) and the late Angelina (nee Mantucca), brother to the late Anita (Tony) Amato, brother in law to the late Joey (Arlene) Spranze and Rosemary. Papa to Michael (Sara), the late Mitchell, Marisa, Frankie (Destiny), Demarco and Richie. Great Papa to Mallory and Mia. Uncle to many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He also has an amazing group of forever friends.

Rich was loved and loved without condition. He never said no or I can't to anyone. He remembered faces, names and stories of everyone he came in contact with and he loved sharing those stories all the way to the end. Rich started out as a barber along side his father. He went on to work for Romano Bros and Butterfield country club, both for 60 years. He made life long friends at both. At Butterfield he was the barber for many generations of families and friends, receiving their first and last haircuts. Stories and laughs were always shared and advice was always given. He knew so many people, we never went anywhere without running into someone he knew.

Our dad was our biggest fan and he loved just being with us no matter what we were doing, mostly playing cards or dice. Nothing made him prouder than his grandchildren. He loved being part of their every day lives, and watching them grow into remarkable adults. He never missed a school event, sports game, concert or musical. He also always had advice for them, whether they wanted it or not. Our Dad is our hero, and he was an amazing man, everything you think your dad should be. He will be greatly missed. We take comfort in knowing he is with our mom now, whether she wants him or not.
