To my mother and best friend.... I say thank you for all the wonderful lessons you have taught me. There isn't a single day that goes by that I do not think about you and wish you were here. I feel so honored and blessed that I was able to devote so much time to you during the last 18 months of your life. I never felt closer to you than the private moments we shared while taking care of you. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change a moment of it. You were so incredibly strong and you always maintained your sense of humor even on the evening before your passing. I will never forget that lesson. Our family is forever changed by your absence. I promised you that we would stay united as a family and pass on your memories and that is exactly what I intend to do. I know that you are no longer suffering and the pain has ended. I only pray that this grieving gets easier with time. You will be in my heart and mind forever. I promise to live my life as you taught me and continue to make you proud of the daughter you raised. I love you with every sense of my being!!! Lisa

To my beloved Mother - I am sorry for all that I did to disappoint you in my life, it was not my intentions at all, you know how much you and Dad meant to me and am happy that you and Dad are still here making sure that I am okay, I don't feel okay, but I know that I will one day, or at least I will hopefully feel better. You were THE BEST Mom anyone could ever ask for. All your phone calls every day are missed SO much ! I miss you so much Mom, it's almost unbearable to me! My heart actually hurts from the pain I am feeling. I am happy that you are not in pain and suffering anymore, but I just miss you so much. Thank you for watching over Gary, I know it was you that was doing that! You DID what you wanted to accomplish, making a believer out of him! Thanks so much! He needed that! I made your elephant ears the other night, they were pretty good, but not quite like yours! I will perfect it though! Just please know that I have done everything possible to make things right as you wanted and just so disappointed that I couldn't do that for you. I am so sorry! I will ALWAYS love you with ALL my heart and will try my hardest to do as you would want ! Thanks for being such a great mother and such a great friend! I miss you more than words can say! I love you !!

Your baby, Julie

Dear Family Members, We received a beautiful card from a very special friend and we wanted to share the sentiment with all of you.

"Your Mom will be remembered in every heart she touched. In every life she changed, in every thought she inspired, her love lives on.
God knows your loss. Lay your burdens in His hands, for He is strong. Rest your head on His shoulders, for He is compassionate. Give to Him your pain and sorrow for He is Love." It is very comforting to know that "Grandma" is in Heaven with Jesus and she is no longer in any pain and she received her healing that we all had been praying for. Everyone misses her so much, but be assured that we will be together one day and we'll have a lot to rejoice about. We love each of you and we pray that Jesus will give you peace. God Bless You! Tom and Marie

To my fellow family members. I want you all to know that Tom and I love each of you and we keep you in our prayers. I know that many of you do not know much about us because we got married and moved away while most of you were very young. But we DO love you and wish only God's very best for you. Mom is a wonderful woman and she had a lot to teach all of us. Remember the lessons that she taught and you will go far in life. We will all miss her sweet smile and fun sense of humor -- we are so glad that we were able to come see her in April. Sorry we didn't get to see more of the rest of you when we were there. God Bless each of you as you go about your days and when you think of "Grandma", don't be sad because she is enjoying herself in Heaven with Jesus and many of our family members. And we will all be together again soon. Yes, we will all miss her but try to concentrate on the good times you had with her and Dad. Yes, grieving is hard, but each of you will need to do it in your own way. We love you and may God Bless each of you. Marie and Tom

To my grandmother, I will miss you more than I (or you) could have ever known. Thank you for the love and lessons you showed me in my life. If there was ever any one person- that opened my eyes in life, taught me the value of our families Catholic beliefs, and was the "glue" of the family.... I will miss you very much ! But I will never forget you, your smile, or your voice. I am very thankful to have had you for 38+ years of my life. And thank you for my mother. You and here are so much alike in your quick, and to the point opinions... I love you wilth all my heart. Your grandson, Wayne.

Going to miss you so much Grandma.

You were always smiling when I'd come in off the road back to Triton and greet me, and I always got a kick out of you never ceasing to find me no matter which Prison I was doing work at and couldn't be reached by cell phone.

Your laugh was infectious and you always had nice things to say....unless it was the rare occasion that you were pissed. Then there was no doubting EXACTLY what you were thinking.

I always got a kick out of having to repair your computer or help you learn a new function at home while you were emailing those abroad or finding recipes.

Speaking of recipes, thanks so much for all the tast soaked memories. Especially all the cookies. There was always a meal or some snacks waiting for any who were hungry at your home.

I'm really glad you got to meet Angela, and wish you could have met the kids.

The whole family is going to be lost without you. You were the Matriarch and the center of the coconut wireless. No matter what was going on with a member of the family, you would always know about it and make sure the entire family was informed. And you ruled with an iron fist or a delicate touch depending on what the situation warranted.

I'm going to miss you so much, but I know it was time for you to go home, and know I'll see you smiling in your rocking chair when I get there.

My first two words were "Grandma" and "Cookie", rightfully so. Oh how well those go together in my mind. My Grandma was not just a Grandmother to me. She was a mother and teacher to me. I was always at her house with my siblings and we always loved being there. Grandmas house was always the safe haven where nothing would ever go wrong. If we had any troubles we knew we could go there. I would not be the woman I am today without her words of wisdom, teachings, and actions. She supported me throughout my life and encouraged me to continue to reach for my goals.

When I went through photos I was at first upset to find that there wasn't many of us together, but then I smiled because they were the ones always taking pictures of us (my siblings and I) so I look at the photos of myself and my brother and sister at Grandmas house and I know even though she is not in the picture, she was there.

I love you Grandma and I always will. Throughout the 21 years of my life I cherish every moment we had together from baking to watching old cooking shows together and shaping me into the woman I am today. I will never forget them. Your strength and smile will be carried on. Not to mention your sense of humor and brutal honesty! I can promise you that.

Love you Grandma.

-Your Granddaughter,
Brittany

Phyllis, I never met you, I have though, been blessed to have met your grand daughter, Sarah. The part that makes her such a wonderful young woman probably came partially from you. Thank you for that. Rest now and let your family remember the lady you were and who helped shape their lives.

We love you and miss you. I will always remember your beautiful smile and sweet laughter. You were an amazing cook and baker and I hope one day I will be as good of a cook as you are. Your love of recipes and cooking was passed down generations. You were a wonderful woman and I admired that you would speak your mind and not take any guff from anyone. You went through so much in your life and you came out better for it and you always made the best of everything. I will deeply miss your phone calls to chat about articles you have just read or advice on what I should or shoudln't be doing. We can rest easy that you are no longer suffering and that you are at peace now and can rest in sweet slumber. Until we meet again my guardian angel.

All my love always, your loving granddaughter, Sarah

Grandma we love and miss you so much. You were in an incredible woman who wouldn't take guff from anyone and would speak your mind, that is what I admired about you most and everything you went through in your lifetime you came out ahead and with a loving family that adored you.

You were an amazing cook and baker and I only hope I one day will be able to cook as good as you and share you love of recipes.

We miss you and love your smile and laughter. Until we meet again in heaven, rest in sweet slumber and i'm glad you are finally at peace.
