Hi Uncle Nate,

I miss you so much and I wish you could see how much all of us have grown and accomplished. I think about you all the time. Phil and I bought our first home and we have two kittens. Beans and Tuukka (Tuukka Rask). Anyway, Tuukka has horrible breath and it reminds me of your cat Doody. Who always was so stinky lol. I think about it all the time.

Miss you and love you,
Klaudia

Nate it's been hard all of these years knowing that I'll never again get to say how much I appreciated you. The short time that I knew you was amazing. Michelle always reminds me about one certain night at shooters in Bloomington when you told her what I thought of her. Been married over 13 years now and have 3 amazing children. All thanks to you. I owe you so much and can't wait to thank you. You had such a great impact on so many people. Unfortunately the world is so infrequently touched by someone like you. You are special, little Nate

To my first best friend. You are in my oldest of memories. You were the other half of my childhood, my brother across the alley. I wasn't around when you left us but I know I'll catch up with you someday. Nathan is my middle name and every single time I say or write it I always think of you. I thought I was named after you when I was little. Remember Star Wars, WWF, Garbage Pail Kids, Stamps, SnowBall...? I regret not being around for our adult lives but I will always be thinking about you.

sorry I missed your birthday this year Nate. It's crazy how life moves so fast. When I get those moments where things slow down just enough I remember all the good times we had and think about how life would be different if you were still here. I know there is a reason why you had to leave us so soon but I still miss you every day and am grateful for the time that you were in my life. You may be gone but you are not forgotten.

Nate,
I bought a Cubs Paver for you. They put it in the Rick Reuschel Section. With so many notable Cubs I thought the Rick Reuschel section would be next to the Elevated. But, to my surprise your paver is under the Marquee! If you walk away from under the marquee to when you get the best look at it - look down, there your paver is! I often wonder if this is where you stood when looking for Cub Autographs.
I miss your unselfish ways and ability to read humor into any situation.

I would like to send my deepest sympathies to all of Nate's family and friends. Nate was such a wonderful, caring, easy-going, good hearted person. He always took care of others before himself. I'm greatful to have known such a wonderful person and for all of the great times I had with Nate. Nate, I hope that you are at peace, you will be greatly missed by all.

July 28, 2006

Nate....

When I signed this guest book the first time, it was directed to your family. Reading all of the great memories stirred up one of my own!

HOME RUN DERBY at the warehouse. You and Erik could never catch the invincible "Cecil" (the nickname you so graciously gave me). I'm not sure if you gave me that title due to my home run hitting prowess, or just our similar physiques??? I remember hitting homerun #100, and knowing you would never catch me! I haven't seen you in 10 years, but I can see you smile, hear your laugh, and smell your daily Raman Noodle lunches! You were a good kid, and I'm gonna miss you!

And by the way, that homerun title...it's yours!

Jacki McCollum

July 26, 2006

Nate- When I say you are family it is more than just a title, you have always been like an older brother looking out for me, but you've also been a best friend, an equal, someone I could talk to that would always tell me it like it is, I just wish you could have told us the whole story. I miss you more as the weeks wind down.

We are going to BuckCherry on the 4th, I'm hoping to hear you belt out that Oh Yeah. Oh and hey, be easy on my boyfriend choices while you're up there, you used to have pink hair remember. I love you Nate, watch over Kristi, and I'll talk to you soon.

Pam Sanders

July 26, 2006

Nate,

Michael and I always had so much fun with you at Josh's house playing cards, games (SPOONS!) and beanbags. We also liked how much you loved the CUBS as much as we did. It was nice to see you playing with the kids all the time and how much you enjoyed them. Elizabeth will always remember how you hid the Mesquite Potato Chips from her and she likes to hear the story of when she was a baby how she wet on your leg when you were holding her. I wish Emily was old enough to have known you better. I will miss hearing you call me "Pamcakes" and asking me Brady Bunch trivia questions. You will be missed so much but we will keep all the good times close to our hearts.

Brian Smith

July 26, 2006

Nate-

For the past 13 years of my life you have been a great friend and no words can express how much you will be missed. We shared so many great times over the years...some of my fondest memories are seeking autographs countless times with you as a kid (your collection always outdid mine), our almost daily football or basketball games in the neighborhood, the now infamous parties at 101 W. Stewart, and of course the fun times we had in Vegas. You are the one person I knew who was as crazy a Cubs fan as I am and I'll never forget that bond that we shared. I just wish our Cubbies could have won one for you! My only regret is that I didn't get to spend more time with you while I could. I hope that you knew how much you meant to me and how much you will be missed. To Kristi and the Schueler family, my thoughts are with you.

I miss you Nate

Nate,

I will miss your smiling face, practical jokes, prank phone calls and devotion to the Cubs. You were a wonderful and caring brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. It is unfortunate that Kyle will never know how wonderful you really were. We will be thinking of you and missing you always.

I met Nate in college. He was the best friend of one of my closest friends in college, Mike Drumm. I was fortunate enough to get to know him through Mike and had an opportunity to meet him on occasion in Chicago, Columbia MO and Austin, TX. We got along very well and I will remember him as a caring person who never thought of himself first. It was a pleasure to meet Nate and have an opportunity to talk to him about music, friends, and life. I wish his family and friends strength in these trying times. Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. Nate will always be remembered.

To all those who loved and lost Nate. I had the pleasure of getting to know Nate through working at Battaglia. I learned that he was a very caring and sensitive individual. My last memory of Nate was him running in the pickup office and grabbing his invoices to deliver. I remember seeing him that very last day. Had I known that this would be the last time I would see him, I would have made more of an effort to say hi and goodbye. He will be greatly missed and already is. I hope Nate that you are at peace and understand how much your presence here affected our lives for the little time we knew you.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
