McMeekin, Melvin I. age 60 of Chicago, died May 18, 2008. Served two terms in Vietnam, Purple Heart & Silver Star decorated Army Veteran. Devoted companion of the late Judith T. Riojas. Preceded in death by Mother, Eleanor Finch, brothers, Donald Connick and Richard Ladwig. Survived by sister-in-law's Nancy Ladwig and Lucille Connick, nephews, Jeffrey, Marc (Mary) Ladwig. Donald, the late John, Joe (Donna) Connick, niece, Debbie (Rex) Bapp, Felicia, Amanda and Alyssa Riojas, great-uncle to many. Dear friend of Chuck Lamanto & Family. Larry, Cheryl and friends of Clyde's Bar, 3046 N California, Chicago, Illinois. Laid to rest in Bloomington, Illinois.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I went to grammer school with Melvin and while looking for a friend's obituary I noticed Melvin's. I have often thought about him and wondered what he did with his life and to see what he accomplished was truly inspiriting.
