Just got a notice about a new entry so I spent some time reading the sweet notes. Such a beautiful woman with a sweet personality. Long long ago she gave me her family recipe for Irish Cream. I'm so sorry that I misplaced it. I'll bet you all toast to her with some every Christmas...or today.

I was a brand new Flight Attendant in 1971 and I vividly remember that whenever I was looking for a smile or some encouragement, I could always count on finding it in Maureen. It meant a great deal to me and I have tried to be that kind of person throughout my life. I am very sorry for your loss and you have my deepest sympathy.

Dear Dan and family,
Though I worked with Maureen for many years my most fond memory was of our first trip together. It was at the end of her first trip following her return to the line in 1971. As we were deplaning a DC-9 after the last passengers three small children came running down the jet way screaming "Mommy". And a smiling man following. All four of you hugged and kissed her. You made her so happy in that moment. You, her family, were always Maureen's first priority. It was only with your support that Maureen was able to live her life to the fullest. Thanks to all of you.
Please accept my condolences.

Dear Dan, Kathleen, Tim and Bryan,

May you all have comfort knowing the wonderful person we've lost is now at peace with the Lord. Cancer is such a horrible demon, but Maureen faced it with dignity and grace. She was truly a beautiful person and will be missed dearly.

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be
so he put his arms around you
and whispered,
"Come to Me"

With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away
and although we love you dearly
we could not make you stay.

A Golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

With Deepest Sympathy and Love to all,
Larry and Colleen Henson

Dan, to you and your family we can only send our deepest sympathies. I knew Maureen through the Ovarian Cancer Group at the Cancer Wellness Center and thrived on every shared moment. She asked the best questions, had so much enthusiasm, introduced me to most interesting people, and shared a tough journey. We both learned a lot along the way, and had some good laughs and warm hugs, too.

I will so miss her great smile, those sparkling eyes, her laughter, her willingness to find the good in the bad, and her love for life. Her love for you, Dan, and her pride and love for her children warmed my heart. I am so sorry that she has had to leave you. It is a miserable disease!

Please accept our condolences as you all traverse these tough days.

January 6, 2012

Dear Dan and Family,

The picture shown here of Maureen captures her physical beauty----the "special beauty" lies within this kind and gentle soul----
She was a true role model in the strenth she portrayed in her battle against cancer, but also in her love and attention toward her family and friends. Bravo Maureen----you will not be forgotten---you have made the world a better place!!

With Love and Deepest Sympathy to Dan and Family,

Zona Duft
