Hello,
I represent PRAYER SHAWLS 4 FALLEN SOLDIERS (PS4FS), an organization that since October 2007 has sent over 2,700 prayer shawls to military families who have lost a loved one. We are an organization of over 240 groups from all over the country. We make every effort to reach families even when post cards are returned after they have moved. Would you kindly send me a contact email/address so that we may send a loving hand made prayer shawl to the family? Thank you!

Dear family of Sgt. Kraig D. Foyteck,

We want to say thank you. We understand that no words can be adequate for your sorrow. We certainly do not want to intrude upon your privacy. As Americans we want you to know that we deeply appreciate the ultimate sacrifice your loved one has made for all of us. We also would like for you to be aware that with this letter comes our special concern and prayers for you. We are all safer because young men and women who love their country, and know the value of a free nation, are willing to put themselves in harms way, and lay down their lives to keep this nation free and safe for all of us.
Your sacrifice is also very great. We know that we can give little comfort; however, the knowledge that your loved one did not die in vain, but died in the service of our country, gives each of us a noble example of the value of life, and the responsibility of freedom. We hope this will bring pride and comfort to you.
We at Gethsemane Church believe that there is purpose to life. We send this letter with our deepest appreciation for the greatest of sacrifices, you and your loved one have given to this country. We know it is not enough, but please allow us to assure you that your loved one is not forgotten.

Very Sincerely

Frank G. Noyes

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

Dear Connie, Chris and Family,
My deepest sympathies are with you. I have known Kraig since we were 13 years old, meeting at Oakton pool every summer for years afterwards. He was such a sweet, fun-loving guy. We had a lot of great memories. I lost contact with him after he joined the army, and I am truely upset about that. I will never forget the twinkle he had in his eyes, and the deep chuckle that made me smile. Even though I believe he's a beautiful angel, enjoying paradise, I still wish he was here. I will miss him so much.

To Kraig’s family and close friends,

Please accept my deepest sympathy and condolence for this tragedy and great loss. I attended Niles West with Kraig and graduated as class of 98’ together. We’ve known each other from taking a handful of classes and of course from the great memories of being on the swim team together. Despite the fact that Kraig was a diver and I was a swimmer, I still get to discover how friendly and genuine of a person he is. He’ll always be remembered as the hero that stood up for everything he believes in and the fun-being that brought great laughter to everyone that knows him. I wish that I was there at the memorial at Niles West as our mutual friend, Steve Chiu and Jose Calderon attended. As they have provided me with some details, they also sent me the class of 98’ swim team picture that was used for remembrance. It definitely brought me great memories of being with Kraig and the rest of the teammates (with myself being the blonde Asian in the picture). Kraig, thank you for the great memories you've brought to all of us. May god bless you, your family and close ones.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of your dear son Kraig. He was a friend and classmate of two of my sons, while they attended Niles West H.S. They remember him as a gregarious, giving and athletic person… truly respected by his peers!

As this conflict in the Middle East rages on, it is inevitable that many communities will feel the pain. It is truly unfortunate that Niles Township now grieves for the taking of this brave soldier, your precious son.

Please accept our heartfelt sympathy to you and your family, and gratitude for his and your ultimate sacrifice. We will keep you in our daily prayers, and wish for you courage and strength in this trying time.

Angel Kraig… watch over us all.

I know first hand how much they struggle with day-to-day life and how much they appreciate people like Kraig stepping in to make a difference. Dear Connie and Family,

There are no words of consalation to ease your sorrow or to express my deepest sympathy, so I will join my prayers with yours and picture Kraig smilling down at us. As I tried to ease my son's anguish, we started talking about all the years they were the best of pals, how much fun they had growing up and always there for each other. Kraig was part of the family.... an extra son, brother, even a cousin. "Kraig and Russell"! Was it yesterday they jumped on the trampolin, cut a tree in the yard, fixed our computer, visit grandma and grampa in Indiana, kid each other, show their wildside bye skydiving for the first time. Their tender side in love for the family and their pets! We feel so blessed to have had Kraig, even for so short of a time! We will miss him, miss his kindness, his love of life, his beautiful smile. My family joins you in your pain.

Kraig obviously touched many, many lives with his smile and his heart for service – his family, friends, teachers, classmates, fellow soldiers in need of a laugh, Iraqi children struggling through desperate lives.

We pray that Kraig’s life and his story inspire the hearts of those still here – to bring joy to those around us and to serve each other in our everyday lives. May your family find peace knowing that Kraig is already inspiring us and our family.

Our most heart felt sympathies are with your entire family during these exceptionally difficult times.

You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Thou it is difficult to think about, Kraig is very much a hero. He provided protection for his comrades and comfort to the people he was charged with protecting. People he did not even know. He is a very special person. Some one God wanted to get to know better.

No matter our personal feelings or desires we are all subject to Gods plan, and we are also recipients of Gods Grace.

You are now crying Tears of Pain. You are crying Tears of Sorrow. You will cry Tears in Kraig's Memory. Memories of the joy he brought you during his time with you. You will also cry tears of Joy knowing he is with God thinking up that next practical joke planning for that day when we are all reunited.

All our love,

To all Kraig's family and loved ones, what a wonderful man to have known. Kraig worked side by side my fiance for the last two years, forming a friendship that I know can and never will be replaced. Kraig was Michael's best friend. I talked to him on different occasions, saw him on webcam, etc. My heart breaks that I did not get the chance to meet him in person quite yet, and thank him. I'm praying that God will guide all of you through this suffering and pain, and that we will rise and be more like Christ. Kraig was loved by so many, we just need to remember the smiles and laughter that he brought to everyone's lives of differnet levels. Thank you for bringing such a great guy in this world, I'm deeply sorry that he had to leave this way. God be with you, and once again - thank you. and thank you, Kraig. You are my hero.

To the Family of Sgt. Kraig D. Foyteck:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.
