Dear Kevin, I am still at a loss. My soul mate and partner is no longer here. It has been a year and it still feels like yesterday that I lost you. You were always so good to Kyle and I. You never complained and always thanked us for everything we did for you and you didn't need to. You touched so many lives and affected so many people. Sometimes I look at Kyle and I see you. He has some of the same quirky habits...the long showers, hair has to be just so, his collections, and research about what he is interested in...I see you in his face. Thank you for a world of wonderful times in your short lifetime. Love Karen

Dear Karen, Kyle & Family: We will miss Kevin as a dear friend, and your family will always be in our thoughts and prayers. I was always amazed at his military service and knew that after that, he could accomplish anything in his life. We were just teenagers when we enlisted into the military as friends, one after the other, first Kevin, John K, Steve M, Ted H and then me. I was happy to know Kevin in our teenage years through high school and throughout life. I'm glad that I could celebrate his marriage to you, "The happiest day of my life," he told me that evening. I will miss my dear friend, the original "Grease". We were so fortunate in having been able to spend some time with all of you last summer in Schaumberg.

I worked with Kevin at the Tribune in Chicago and at the Arizona Republic in Phoenix between the years of 1977 thru 1991 when I left the newspaper trade. Kevin was great person. We hiked the Grand Canyon together in 1987 with a group of 6 people from the Republic when all of us were new to Arizona. Many great memories from that trip. My condolences to his family.
