Kay Frye Obituary

Brown Frye, Kay L.

Kay Louise Brown Frye, 82 years of age and resident of Carol Stream, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Kay was born on January 19, 1943, in Berwyn, Illinois, to the late Betty Jo (nee Leesley) and Glenn A. Brown. She graduated from West Chicago High School in 1961 and worked for Illinois Bell for 2 years, and then Western Electric for 27 years. In 1961, she married Daniel Frye, and the couple had one daughter together. Kay was a lover of garage sales, romantic movies, victorian design, flowers, music, cooking, Korean soap operas and steak & lobster dinners.

She is survived by her daughter Donna Frye Carpino (Tom Carpino); grandchildren Ryan Fleury (Crystal Fleury), Reanna Carpino Logan (Jeremy Logan), and Ross Carpino (Jared Scheck); great-grandchildren Taylor Fleury, Madison Fleury, Jake Logan, Ellie Logan, and Olivia Logan; siblings Barbara Brown, Jay Brown (Kathy Brown), and Nancy Brown; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents Betty Jo McClain and Glenn "Tex" Brown (Barbara Brown); grandparents Joseph and Bertha Leesley; and aunt Arva Wallace.

Interment will be held on Saturday, July 19, at Naperville Cemetery, 705 S Washington St, Naperville, IL 60540.

Donations to the American Cancer Society in Kay's name would be greatly appreciated by the family.
