Townsend, John J. "Jack" Deputy Commissioner of Security for the Department of Aviation of the City of Chicago. Formerly 1st Deputy Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department. Dearly beloved husband of Nicolina Townsend, devoted father of John Jr., Patrick (Sonia), Mary Carol (Geoffrey) Jania, loving papa of Jennifer, Julianna, Sara and Shannon, dear brother of Martin Townsend, fond uncle of Barbara and Cynthia, cherished friend of many. Funeral Mass Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the evening at Old St. Patrick's Church, 718 West Adams (at Desplaines) following visitation in church from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Mass. Graveside Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, 87th Street at Hamlin in Evergreen Park, IL will take place at 10:30 a.m. All are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Chicago Police Chaplains Ministry at 1140 West Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL, 60607, would be appreciated. for information please contact McKeon Funeral Homes at 773-927-0925,
