Jim and Janice,

I was so sorry to hear about Joanne. I went to

St. Pascal's and Alvernia High with her and I know you two also. Joanne was a wonderful friend to me and I loved going to your house in the summer and playing as it always seemed more exciting there. I knew Gene too and we double dated a bit when I was going with George Leahy (what happened to him?)and then after high school we sort of went our separate ways. I did see Robert, Mary Jo and the baby at that time was Stephen when newly married me lived in Logan Square (demolished now?)and then we moved to Villa Park.

My sympathy to all of you.

We're so sorry that we were out of town and didn't get the news until now. Please accept our sincere condolences. Your mother was a wonderful woman. We didn't know she was ill, but fortunately we were able to see her last summer while she was feeling better.

We have great memories of her and your dad.

I had the honor of being the best man at their wedding. While we didn't see each other often, we did have a good time every time we were able to get together.

Gloria and I remember your mother fondly. I remember in particular the New Year's eve party your mom had in 1955 in the basement of her parents house. Your dad was there of course, as was Jack Adams (then Adamczyk) and Mary Jo, his Irish Rose.I was there with Gloria. We were three lucky guys from Our Lady of Grace and De Paul Academy, lucky in being loved by such lovely girls. We kept in touch through the years, and our luck continued as our marriages stayed strong and were blessed with wonderful children. I know this is a time of sadness, but it should also be a time of celebration of a life well lived.

I'm so sorry that we are out of town.

It was so good seeing her last July when we went to lunch, I was so hoping she was through the worst.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was saddened to hear of your mom's passing. At a time like this, I know that no words can lessen your pain. If I have learned anything in this life, it is that God has a plan for all of us and your mom has gone on to a better existence. We can question and wonder why things happen, but only our faith can hold us together in times like this. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Love,

Cindy
