Jawaun McClain Obituary

Happy Heavenly Birthday to our always loving, always handsome and yes always smiling son Jawaun! We just spent the weekend having a final memorial service for my mom and dad in Cleveland where we able to lay their ashes to rest back in their home town. Family was present and it was a beautiful and still painful service but they are now free from all pain and both of them are back together and able to hang out with you and all of our families up in heaven. We miss you each and every day and we think of you always! Your dad and I are doing well and trying to make sure we take care of each other as we navigate a few age related aches and pains reminding us that we are no longer 20 years of age. Just know that we are singing your birthday praises and sending you lots of hugs and kisses up in heaven and want you to share them with our loved ones who have made their way to you and into the arms of God. So continue to pray for us Jawaun, and yes, your mom, dad, sister Janasia, brother Jaurique, brother in love Keith and your tall and beautiful niece Asmara and our family and friends and of course (me) are all doing well and trying to navigate life gracefully. Still you remain in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers and you always will. So in closing, I ask that you please say a little prayer for us here on earth because things are definitely a little on the crazy side with a lot people hurting personally and politically.... but this too will pass. My Dearest Loving Jawaun, I pray that you are still holding court in heaven and taking care of all of the young, old, and heavenly angels & loved ones there in heaven with you and all of us on earth! As you already know, my mommy gained her wings in March and I can't even begin to say how painful this loss is to me :( ... yet when I think of her being with you and all of her family, your family, her/our many friends who have joined her and knowing that she is no longer in such pain... I am able to smile... even though the tears continue to flow like a raging river ... just like they did when we first lost you...when you left us and you too gained your wings it was then that your big wide smile became a permanent stamp in our hearts and we see that smile every day when we look at your pictures, smiling & winking back at us ... (as it is now while I write you this message :)

Hi Handsome! Another year has gone by and we continue to sing your name We still miss you but because you are forever in our hearts, our love and thoughts of you continue through the years along with us. I hope you are taking care of yourself and enjoying all of the many family members who have come your way. Life continues to be a blessing and a journey that´s full of twists and turns but we carry on & we smile and thank God for his continued Blessings which includes you our dearest Jawaun! Hey Jawaun, I was thinking of you this morning and once again between a laugh and a tear, I smiled thinking @ how much your baby brother reminds your mom, dad and yes even I of you. He is tall, big smile, and in spite of (Po + Tinky Winky :) his voice grows strong and deep, and when we talk to him and see him ... yes your presence and wit are intertwined in young Jaurique and you. They are beautiful reminders of life and love which bring smiles to us all. We miss you! but our love for you is eternal. I miss you so much. It's hard to let you go, but I know you're in a better place now.
