Henry Malinowski Obituary

Malinowski, Henry Charles "Hank" Passed away peacefully on August 8, 2016, surrounded by his family and friends in Round Lake Park on August at the age of 85 years old. Henry is survived by his wife Marie; children, Marty (Robin), Joe (Cecile), Susan Maloney (James), and Mike (Shelley). Henry was preceded in death by his sisters, Henrietta and Mary, and his three brothers Gene, Art, and Joe. Henry has 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Henry was born on January 28, 1931 in Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood to Frank and Teresa Malinowski. He graduated from Gage Park High School in 1949. He married Marie, his high school sweetheart in 1952. They were married for 63 years. Hank was a longtime employee of Derby Foods in Chicago, maker of Peter Pan Peanut Butter, rising to the position of Plant Manager. After the plant moved to Sylvester, GA in 1986, he moved there to set up and begin operations, retiring in 1988. He was also a Volunteer Fireman in Bridgeview Gardens, and was elected Trustee for the Village of Bridgeview in 1983. Hank was an accomplished three sport athlete and Coach. He enjoyed his retirement spending summers fishing and boating at his Round Lake cottage and winters in Albany, GA and then Sun City Center, FL. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of everyone that knew and loved him. Funeral, Saturday, August 13, 2016, 9:15 a.m. prayers to begin from the funeral home to Saint Blase Church, 6101 S. 75th Avenue, Summit, IL for 10:00 a.m. Mass.
