To Mrs. Kato,
My name is Charlene Powell, RN,MSN,CDE.I am the Diabetes Educator at Jesse Brown VA on Damen Avenue, Chicago, Ill. Your son Gerald was an active member of our diabetes education class here every Wednesday for the pass 3 years. He kept us all informed on the latest "newspaper or magazine article. I personlly looked forward to seeing him on Wednesdays as well as the other veterans in class. We missed his presence last Wednesday when he did not show for class. I was very shocked when I read that he had transitioned. He will surely be missed by all he encountered. This Wednesday is our class graduation. Once a year those veterans who attend 5 or more sessions receive a certificate from me. I would like to send you his if that is ok with you. Thanking you in advance. On behalf of the entire Wednesday Diabetes Education Class, we offer our sincere condolences and want you to know, class won't be the same without "Mr. Kato"
Sincerely,
Ms. Powell
