HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES TO THE DUNNE FAMILY. WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER, MY DEAR FRIEND,JUDY TOOK ME TO MEET HER UNCLE,GEORGE,HE GAVE ME A PEP TALK ABOUT GOING OFF TO COLLEGE & WISHED ME LIFE'S BEST. FROM THAT DAY I REFERRED TO HIM WHEN I SPOKE OF HIM AS "UNCLE GEORGE" I THINK HE WAS A VERY SPECIAL MAN WHO WILL BE MISSED & THOUGHT OF WITH FONDNESS BY MANY PEOPLE WHOSE LIVES HE TOUCHED.

The Chicago Province Jesuits wish to express their deepest condolences to Mrs. Dunne and all of the family at this special time of great loss. George was a cherished friend to so many and a wonderful partner of the Jesuits on the journey of faith and service. Be assured of a daily remembrance of George and all he held close to his heart in the prayers and good works of the Jesuits as they continue the journey, "Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam."

Our prayers go out to the Dunne family with the loss of Mr. Dunne. I worked for him in the Democratic organization in the 60's and he was very gracious whenever approached. The city will miss this great man.

George Dunne was my Uncle. When my Father was killed in WWII (MIA), he left a wife and eight children. On more occasions then we can remember, Uncle George helped us through difficult times. He always remembered his 'roots" and understood what it was like to be poor and in need of help. He turned no one away and always made that extra effort to see that their needs and suffering were minimized. He was, first, last and always, a man of HONOR. My sincere condolences to his wife and family.

I only met him as a wee-child. However, I have heard many postivie stories about Uncle George.

I would like to send my thoughts to the rest of the family. and express my regrets in not meeting him when I could really remember him.

Mr. Dunne was a close friend and respected confidant of a close personal friend, Ed Marciniak, who is now deceased. I add my condolences in his place, as I know he would do so if he could.

The gifts of appearing larger than life, a giant heart, a friendly smile and conversation and truly a person who cared about those around him. As a nephew of George, I appreciate the help he gave our family over the years. I also gained the greatest respect for him when he rallied his party around former Mayor Washington while others were ready to cut and run.

condolences to Mr. Dunne's family

I was saddened to learn of the loss of my old pal George. When I lived in Chicago full time I helped canvass the precincts of the 42nd ward for the democratic organization and people were always inspired by his integrity. With Butch and the Chairman together again the bagpipes are blaring in Heaven.

George Dunne was a man of integrity, strength, forbearance, and courage. He was an excellent role model and leader of the Democratic Party. Working with George, when I served as 46th Ward Committeeman, was a pleasure and honor. He helped to redefined and reshaped the Democratic Party to represent and serve everyone. George was a true leader who served humanity and we will miss him.

To the Dunne Family, My wife and I send our thoughts and prayers to you. I remeber when my Father Nick,who passed away a few years ago, would come home and say how much he enjoyed sitting at the Kitchen table having a drink with George and just talking.

Thank You for being a great friend to my father and mother (Best Man).
