Frederick Kores Obituary

Kores Jr., Frederick L. January 23, 1947 - December 6, 2014. Fred Kores, Jr., was the loving and loyal husband and partner to Polly Alpert for 28 years. Fred is survived by his children, Freddie (Frederick L. Kores III) (Stacy Robinson), daughter Kerry Kores (Josh Card), and grandson Finley Kores Card. Born in Chicago, Fred graduated with a B.A. in Communications from Columbia College in 1970. His professional career began as a musician in various bands but most notably as a member of the Cascades who were very popular locally in the 60's. His career spanned four decades as a producer, director, film/video technician and projectionist for thousands of diverse clients. Fred's career and personal life took him to New York and Los Angeles from 1972 to 1986. He resided in Hermosa Beach, California with first wife Pam Peadon, mom to Freddie and Kerry. He returned to Chicago in 1986 where he met and married Polly. They lived in Oak Lawn, Illinois and Vail, Colorado for the last 15 years. Fred's passions were surfing, skiing, playing rock and roll music and the shooting sports. He loved animals, especially his feline friends who gave him so much pleasure. Fred was a member of the Motion Picture Projectionists, Audio Visual Engineers and Computer Technicians of Local 110 of the I.A.T.S.E. where he had many friends and colleagues. He was proud to say that he worked for five American Presidents, two British Prime Ministers, the Dali Lama and many prominent artists too numerous to mention. He had a wonderful laugh, a ready smile and a crazy sense of humor which will be so missed. Memorial contributions can be made to PAWS Chicago, to benefit the Lurie Spay & Neuter Clinic, 1997 N.
