I am very sad and heartbroken by the loss of my brother, Frank. Nobody compared to him and nobody ever will.

As we were so close in age, we grew up spending all of our time together as children.

The summers would last forever and I will always have fond memories of us playing together in the yard with our Army men, building ramps and jumping them with our bicycles, or playing catch.

When we could get enough of the neighborhood kids together, we would play baseball in the park all day. When we couldn't, it would just be me and him playing fast pitch against the wall of our school. It was amazing, the speed in which we would wear out a baseball.

If especially hot and dry, we would scour the alleys for boxes. Once in hand, we would run to the viaduct and repeatedly slide down the grass-covered hill until our butts burned holes in the cardboard. It was better than snow sledding. You weren't all wet and cold. But I'll tell you, those grass burns were nothing nice.

When it rained, we built forts in the living room with cushions from the couch. I remember how we would wrestle, him being "Dick the Bruiser," and me, "The Crusher." Does anyone remember those guys? They were the pros when we were kids.

We were in the Boy Scouts together and every summer we went to camp. The fun we had climbing into a canoe, swimming, hiking, and sleeping in our tent. I was really lucky having Frank as my brother.

I will never have any better memories than the days of my youth, playing with my little brother Frank.

I love you, brother, and I always will.

I'll never forget.

Your big brother,
Danny

Uncle Frankie, as I knew him, was a brother to me, a good friend and an uncle to my little girl, Claire. I met Frankie, through my husband Keith Boudart about 7 years ago and ever since have seen him more often than my own brother. He holds a special place in my heart. He is a special person who will be missed. Frankie was our weekly visitor who was more than a friend. He was family.

To the Ferraro family, and friends of Frank. I was sadened to hear the news of this trajedy. Although, the years have flown by, and time and distance bring us further apart, it nevertheless seems I just saw him yesterday. And we laughed. It hurts to learn Frank has passed. And I only wish I could have stayed in better touch with him over the years, which seem like days. He was a great man, patriot, friend, and brother to me and many others. We will all miss him. My deepest sympathies.

Frank, I'm attaching a recent picture of me in my battle gear, I know you'd like. God bless you brother. See you there.

I knew Frank as my "brother's roommate", but I was always happy to see Frank when I visited the Delta Sig house at NIU back in the '80's and early '90's. The world has lost one of the truly genuine smiles.

Frankie was a great friend throughout college. Someone to have fun with, sing with, and just hang around with. I will forever remember getting kicked out of the Jungle singing loud for all to hear! When I read about Frank, I thought to myself...God must have needed an angel that day...and he certainly got one of the very best. Love in ASA & Delta Sigs!!!!

Frank was a friend and roommate of mine at the Delta Sig house back in the good ole college days. I didn't see Frank as much as I would of liked to since then but when we did get together, we always shared a good laugh. Frank was a genuine and honest person who was never scared to share his opinion and back it up. I always respected him for these qualities. I already miss him.

There are never enough kind words for moments like this. You were always a good friend, patriot, and Brother-in-Arms. May you always be remembered for that. The streets of Heaven are now guarded by a fine Marine! Semper Fidelis...

My condolences to the Ferraro family. I have not seen Frank for about 9 years. Time to time i would think about Frank and want to call but i never did and now i wish i would have. I remember when he used to come over with his bike and let me take it for a ride. I was so excited. I was just a young kid but he trusted me and wanted me to have a good time. Also with that green eclipse when it was brand new. He loved that car. Frank gave me the drive to become a United States Marine. He was there every step of the way. Frank took me to get information on the Marine Corps and he is one of the biggest reasons i joined. He was the model Marine and that's what i wanted to be, just like him. I miss you brother. Thank you for everything. Semper Fi

Frank, as the words in this guest book show, your family should be extremely proud of the man you were. Although our time together was short, and your time on earth was far too short, everyone that experienced your presence while you were here, have a more complete life for knowing you. Thanks for your brotherhood!

Frank, your personality, humor and kindness will never be forgotten. I don't know why you had to leave us so soon, but I take comfort in knowing you are in a better place. I trust you will continue to look out for us all and look forward to shaking your hand again someday.

Frankie was the one with the wicked secret smile and acceptance of all of those he loved. He worked hard, played hard and gave the best hugs! We loved him and now will pray that he will be at the Gate welcoming us when our time comes... Children should not go before parents to God... God bless him and hold him close. I loved him like a son and though I saw him less these days, will miss him a great deal. Kathy & Jim Ohman

To Franks Family:

My deepest sympathy's on this tragic loss. Although it has been almost 18 years since I new him, the memories are still fresh in my mind.

The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want.
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

You were truly one of a kind. A Marine, frat boy, CPA, fun-loving, poker-playing golfer with a knack for tough talk capped off with a sly smile.
