Dear Dorian's family,
I was extremely shocked to learn of Dorian's passing. I found out through the local paper (the Observer) where they made mention of "the late Dorian Pelaez." I couldn't believe it. Many times he and I would catch the same train home (S. Chicago Line) and would just say hi - his smile never changed. I didn't think the reason why I didn't see him any more was because of this. I, too, went to school with Dorian (SFDS), we graduated that great year of 1976. He definitely was a happy, compassionate and intelligent person. Please accept my condolences. God bless you and your family.

When I heard of my old friend's passing I just could not believe it. I was fortunate to run into him at a festival in Homewood a few years ago and he looked the same as when I'd last seen him around 1993. He introduced me to his beautiful family and we couldn't have been happier to see each other. We went to SFDS high school then had the opportunity to work together later on. We went to our 10 year high school reunion together and had a blast. I moved out of state but often wondered about my friend. God Bless you all at this time of sorrow. He is in a better place now, probably laughing and catching up with my Edward.

May memories of the joyful moments shared bring you and your family comfort. I first met Mr. Pelaez when I was named queen of the Mexican Patriotic Club. I have vivid memories of him smiling, with his daughters always by his side. At the beginning of this month, I was fortunate to see him again, smiling and waving, as he continued to travel with his daughters. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dearest Rosa, Alexis, and Catalina - Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. I pray for you today and all the days ahead. As time goes on, I hope the pain you bear today will slowly be healed by happy memories of your life with Dorian. There could never be a more loving and devoted husband and father. I feel fortunate to be among the hundreds of people that were Dorian's friends. He was special while on this earth, and I know he is in Heaven watching over us all.

Ms. Pelaez, Catalina and Alexis, our deepest sympathy for your loss. My kidz were deeply upset to hear about Mr. Pelaez, especially my daughter Julisa. During communion rehearsals and taking the ride to pick up the communion dress in the suburbs and dropping him back off at work my daughter would always say what a nice and happy couple you two were. She remember every bit of the long ride that you both were so kind to give her. They learn to have a special feeling towards you and your family. The last time my son Robert and I saw Mr. Pelaez was during the meeting to sign up as an alter boy. He asked Mr. Pelaez how soon he can start because he was so excited to be at the meeting. The little time my kids knew your family they were very happy to see you guys. I will keep you and your kids in our prayers.

Before starting a new project at Blue Cross last September, I had not seen Dorian since we worked together 12 years earlier. Dorian had changed little over those years; even nerved and always part of the solution. Countless others and I are blessed for having known Dorian and my deepest sympathies are with you.

I met with Dorian late in the day Friday to hand off work. No one likes late day meetings, yet we all parted with both a sense of accomplishment and laughter. His smile as we left was a gift, and he will be greatly missed.

Rosa,Alexis, and Catalina,
Words cannot describe what I am feeling for your family right now. I have watched you girls grow up over years at Michelle's, and had the pleasure of getting to know your father. Your father was such a kind and gentle man.
Now you have an extra special guardian angle watching over you. My prayers are with the three of you today and always.

I had the privilege of knowing Dorian for 3 1/2 years. He was my co-worker,my friend and my body with whom I have lunch daily,we laughed together and complained together when things don't go according to our expectation. He was very kind in nature and was always careful not to say anything offensive. He was a hard worker and always advised us to work hard as well.
How ever hard it is to understand death, we can only accept for our destiny is not in our hand. I will pray for his salvation and I want to ask his family to stay strong in this moment of sorrow.
There are no tears that God cannot wipe out, there is no burden that is to heavy for him to carry.Give it all to him and he will take care of you.
May my prayers be with the friends and family of the Pelaez family.

Thank you for being such a great Brother-in-law and for always being there for the family when we needed your help. Thank you for loving my sister and nieces the way you did, for devoting your life to raising your girls. I thank you for all the kind words and gestures of love you showed me and my boys. We will miss you dearly. Say hi to Papa for me. Love you, Raquel
