From the remainder of the Kam's family, I am sorry to hear of Dave's passing. We all had great times together at the "club", we should all remember Dave and Ralph as charter members of a great social group in
Westmont. Dave will be missed.

This year I have gained a formidable Angel (with strong overtones of Leprechaun) to my side. Thank you David for adding your beauty and mirth to my life.
For reuniting ties
and the treasured gift of your unconditional love.

I met Dave during grade school when we would have opposing school snowball battles, in which he was a formable foe. Together we attended Downers Grove South high school. In the early ‘70’s we spent months traveling together. We went to Stukely Sud (South Stukely) Quebec, outside Montreal where we helped erect a barn and a pasture fence on our friend, Michael Bane’s farm. From there we traveled extensively thru New England during the fall and on to Philadelphia. We canoe camped on many rivers including the Delaware River Gap, quite another story. Dave and I crossed paths in Silverton Co where he worked at several trades, most interesting was ‘mining camp’ jobs. The crew would be away for weeks only returning on weekends to re-supply, do laundry and let off steam.
I could go on and on telling of our mutual life experiences. I truly regret not having taken the opportunity to draw on Dave’s memory to enrich my life’s chronicle of events that I have forgotten.
My sincerest sympathy goes out to Ralph, Greg, Debbie and, Kerry and the rest of the Spix family. Also to our mutual friend Rob Hrycej who for 30 plus years has celebrated with Dave their mutual birthday (2 days apart).
I wish to close with one memory from Silverton Colorado.
One snowing winter day, Dave and I left Silverton in my 1956 Ford pickup to go to Durango, 50 miles and two10,000 foot mountain passes away on a “grocery run” for ourselves and friends. A common occurrence living there since Silverton lacked a real grocery store. Joining us was a friend from Arizona named Tim. Travel conditions were bad, but we all were suffering from ‘cabin fever’ and needed to get out. The entire way we seemed to be swerving between cars and trucks on the two-lane, shoulder-less road that were either sideways, stuck or stopped to chain up. Crossing over Coal Creek pass, Tim who was sitting in the middle had just finished saying “you guys cut your eye teeth on roads like this” when I lost control and started to spin out toward the Animas River gorge. Immediately both doors opened, I kept mine open with my shoulder and Dave was half out of the truck with one foot on the running board and a vice grip on Tim’s chest. I regained control and we continued with the windows open since Tim was emitting a terrible stench. This is only one of dozens, maybe hundreds of memories that we shared that cemented of friendship. I seem to miss him more with each passing day.

"We have no idea what tomorrow will bring, we have to live for today." I believe David did that. I met him in 1956; a mischievous little red head who could steal your heart. Suddenly taken, sadly missed, but loved everlasting.
My sincere sympathy and love to you all.
