Clarence McClain Obituary

McClain, Clarence Age 73, born June 13, 1941 departed Sept. 4, 2014, was raised on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. Preceding him in death was his only brother, John T. McClain; his father, Casey Jones; and his mother, Mable G. Jones, who recently passed in May, 2014. Clarence proudly served in the U.S. Army, and later in his career was instrumental in the political campaign, which catapulted Harold Washington to become the first Black Mayor of the City of Chicago. He leaves to mourn, his son, Clarence McClain, Jr.; daughter, Yuanita Hampton; and son, Brian Shields; grandkids, Olajuruan and Chanita Hampton-Jenkins and Reina Shields; nieces, Stacey McClain and Denise Norwood; and a host of cousins, and friends. Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home, LTD, at 63 E. 79th Street, Chicago, Illinois.
