Charles Butler Obituary
Charles William ("Charlie") Butler, Jr., 81, of Beverly, died of natural causes September 18, 2024.
Charlie is survived by his children Rachel (Jim), Luke (Lynn), Sarah, and Rebecca; grandchildren Jo, Laila, Max, Grady, and Cleo; and siblings Christine, Paul, and Thomas. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, cherished friends, and his former (1969 -1996) wife, Diana Butler (née Smith), with whom he lovingly co-parented and remained friends.
A life-long South Sider, Charlie called Beverly home for over 50 years. After graduating from Seattle University ('69), he had careers with Illinois Bell and the Chicago Board of Education. Charlie loved music and actively supported the Chicago folk music scene. Memorial to be held at a later date.
In Charlie's memory, the family suggests donations to Folk Alliance International at folk.org/donate
