Flynn,, Beverly Ann
Beverly Ann Flynn, nee Lockbaum, age 86, died peacefully on December 20, 2025, at home surrounded by family. Beverly is the loving wife of the late Donald Francis Flynn, devoted mother of Brian Joseph Flynn (Michelle Flynn), the late Kevin Francis Flynn (Susan Flynn), and Dereck Millington; and beloved "Grandma Bevvy" to five grandchildren: Dylan Anne Flynn, Donald, Shannon, Brendan and Katherine Flynn. She was a devoted and loving daughter to her mother and father throughout their lives. Beverly was born in
Potsdam, New York to parents, Anne M. Lashomb and Joseph T. Lockbaum where her father was the local postmaster. Bev attended grade school and high school at St. Joseph's Academy in Malone, New York solidifying her deep catholic faith. Bev attended Marquette University majoring in journalism where she met the love of her life, Don Flynn. Settling in Chicago after graduation, both Bev and Don worked at Arthur Andersen & Co, Don as an accountant and Bev as the editor of the company newsletter. Working at the same company posed a challenge when Don wanted to propose to Bev - necessitating permission from the head of the company and forging new territory for marriage between co-workers. They married in 1965 at Immaculate Conception Church in Chicago and celebrated their nuptials with a reception at The South Shore Country Club. Together Bev and Don formed a loving supportive partnership that endured over 44 years until 2011 when Don passed away. They supported countless charitable causes, coordinated and hosted worldwide adventures with friends and hosted meaningful family gatherings. They were a formidable team and Bev's strength was a great source of inspiration for Don's many business endeavors. Bev loved traveling with family and friends, reading, conquering the Sunday NYT crossword puzzle, Haagen Dazs ice cream, watching and playing Jeopardy! and was a life-long suffering Bears fan! She was witty, tough as nails, incredibly generous, and spoke her mind freely. She took great joy in creating well-decorated living spaces over the years and excelled at coordinating logistics. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all. Family and friends will meet on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Church, 1431 N. North Park Avenue,
Chicago, IL 60610 for a 10:00 a.m. Visitation followed by a 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass. Entombment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Leo High School or Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii. For further information please call 312-421-0936 or
