Beth Olson Obituary

Olson, Beth

Beth Leaette Olson nee Beaumont, 68, of Elmwood Park, passed suddenly on June 15, 2022. Beloved wife of Ronald Olson for over forty years. Adored mother to Erik (Jenny) Olson and Leaette (Scott) Caravello. Cherished grandmother to Samuel Olson, Gabrielle, Madeline and Olivia Caravello. Admired sister of the late Judy, the late Carol (Wally) and Patty (the late John). Sister in law to the late Laura, late Elmer (Joy), and late Richard (Ginny). Loving aunt and great aunt to many. She is predeceased by parents Samuel and Margaret "Peggy" Beaumont.

Beth was an avid traveler, enjoyed her many adventures and outings, loved the theater, and always looked forward to dinners and card games with her "girls". She was a nurse for over thirty years, retired from Rush University Medical Center and continued to teach at Triton College into her retirement. She always had a positive outlook on life, was an attentive, caring, and loving mother, "Mimi" and "Gramma". She was adored and beloved by all of her friends and family and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be Friday from 3pm-8pm and Saturday from 9am-10:30am at The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave., Elmwood Park to Bethlehem Lutheran Church for 11am Funeral Service. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Misericordia a foundation that Beth often donated to and organized fundraisers for.

My heart goes out to Beth's family and friends. I was a co-worker of Beth's many years ago. Beth had a great smile, laugh and a positive attitude. She would give people her full attention and truly cared. I will miss our dinners at Cooper's Hawk and The Clubhouse, with Anne McHugh, amongst many other joints. Beth jokingly referred to me as her "twin" as we always ordered the same food and had the same opinion on most everything. I laugh as I write this now (as only Beth would want me to). I will miss her so much. Hugs.

I was so shocked to hear the news. My heart goes out to Beth's family during this time. We have known each other for many years and were once co-workers long ago. I will miss our dinners at Cooper's Hawk along with the great conversations we enjoyed and company. Beth, you will be missed by all, but your spirit and smile will live on in everyone's hearts and memories.

I am so sorry Erik and Leaette. And so very sad. I will miss our talks of our children and Dick and Ron especially during Dick's illness. Your mom would invite me to her "girls" game nite on occasion to get me out of the house. I am shocked and saddened and miss her greatly. You are in my prayers.! Love to you

Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of such a beautiful human being. I would have lunch with Beth almost daily and we’d swap stories on traveling and family and grandchildren. Beth would even throw in some medical advice while i was on my journey to wellness. Will definitely miss her. Love Diana

On behalf of Beth's Water's Edge Aquatic Family, I would like to express how deeply saddened we all are by the loss of this exceptional woman.

Her bright smile and lively laughter brightened even the gloomiest of days!

Always the optomist, with a wonderful ear for listening, she made quick friends to everyone she met and made it a point to help all those in need anyway she was able.

She will be missed and will remain in our hearts forever.

I was Blessed to be her student at Triton college I enjoyed her company. she was funny and very generous with her knowledge of All things Nursing. Her best line to us the students was "I can teach you about Nursing but I can not teach you Compassion" she was caring and I am a better person for being so Blessed to be in her class. She will be missed physically but her words of wisdom will Live forever in the hearts and minds of her students. We talked about God and she believed in his miracles. "Again";was here favorite word to say in class .Thank You God for Beth Olson I know you are welcoming her Home .
