Bernice Pocius Obituary

Pocius, Bernice C. "Bea" (nee Jawor) Age 86, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chicago, grew up in the Roseland neighborhood, raised her loving family in Alsip and was a resident of Orland Park since the late 1990's. Bea retired from Mercy Hospital, Chicago after many years of dedicated service. She was devout member of St. Michael's Church, Orland Park. Preceded in death by husband Robert E. Pocius Sr., parents Paul and Catherine (nee Talarczyk) Jawor; two brothers John and Paul Jawor, two sisters Rose Wnek and Albina Mulcahy and her best friend Dorothy Devitt. Survived by her two children Kathy (Mike) McDermott of Lockport and Robert (Jill) Pocius of Homer Glen, Seven adored grandchildren Patrick (Mallory) McDermott , Daniel McDermott, Claire McDermott, Bryan (Caley) Engnell, Kyle (Lauren) Engnell , Kaitlyn Pocius and Amanda Pocius; three great grandchildren Joslyn, Finley and Axel Engnell. Numerous nephews, nieces and friends also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Rettsyndrome.org would be greatly appreciated. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 14327 Highland Ave. Orland Park, IL., 60462 at 10:45am. Everyone will meet at church. Following Mass cremation rites will be respectfully addressed.
