Bernice Gardner Obituary

Gardner, Bernice "Snookie" 74, retired Chicago Public School teacher, artist, scholar, and 33 year docent at the Field Museum, died March 25, 2010. Bernice is survived by her daughters Karyn Pettigrew and Noel Gardner, son-in-law Carl Pettigrew and grandchildren Cameron and Nicholas. A celebration of her life will be held in Chicago at the James Simpson Theater in the Field Museum of Natural History on Sunday, May 2nd, from 6-8pm. Contributions in her memory may be directed to Reading In Motion, 65 E. Wacker Place, Suite 1800, Chicago, IL 60601 or to the Field Museum c/o Memorial Donations, 1400 S. Lake Shore Dr., Chicago, IL 60605.
