LEONA JEAN McVICKERS COLEMAN passed peacefully from this world to the arms of God on December 15, 2025. She was born January 29, 1932, and was lovingly raised by N.C. (Clair) and Jane Park, who proceeded her in death.
Jean was married to the love of her life, Clayton Leo Coleman, on June 3, 1960, and they were the first couple to be married in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church,
Pinch, WV. Both were lifelong members and Jean delighted in teaching the children of the church. She was also a member of St. Andrews' choir and looked forward to every service. Leo went to heaven and has waited for her since July 21, 2001.
To their delight, after Jean and Leo's marriage, they were blessed by the birth of Greg in 1961 and Vicki in 1963.
Jean was in banking for many years and enjoyed her time there, especially on the switchboard. She loved interacting with so many people and often told hilarious stories of her time with her coworkers.
Jean and Leo spent much time at their camp in Pocahontas County, fishing in the river, their children playing in the sunshine, living their happiest, best lives.
Jean was also blessed to travel throughout her life, from Las Vegas to New Orleans to the Caribbean to Scotland and beyond, whether her companion be Leo, her children, or her special friend, Carol Jarett, or a host of other friends and relatives. They laughed and cried and laughed until they cried, and Jean loved all of it.
Jean was an avid gardener, crafter, maker of needlepoint (artistically so) and world champion shopper. She enjoyed volunteering with LERMA and helping anyone she could with compassion and grace.
Left to celebrate her life is her son, Greg (Lisa) of
Pinch, WV, her daughter, Vicki of LaBelle, FL, and her grandchildren Ashley, Alex, Michael, Max and Sydney, all of whom called Jean their Mimi. She is also a proud great grandmother to Isabella, Sofia, Saylor and Selena.
Jean was proceeded in death by brother Donnie and sisters Rose and Pat. Surviving are sisters Barbara, Shari and Shirley and brother, Dewey.
Jean was a light to all who knew her, and through her example we all have hope of eternal life and of seeing her again.
The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way,
