ELROY - Cecil J. Parrish, age 91 years, of Elroy, WI, died on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at UW Hospital in Madison, surrounded by his family.
He was born on January 28, 1933 to Cecil C. and Delcia (Downing) Parrish in Juneau County, WI.
Cecil attended Knickerbocker School as a boy and also Elroy Elementary School and graduated from the Elroy High School.
Cecil was united in marriage to Eyrleine Shughart on September 24, 1960.
He was employed in Rockford, IL for eight years; in Janesville for nine years and farmed eight years at Elroy. Cecil drove school bus in Beloit for eight years and 35 years for Browns Bus Service in Elroy. Cecil worked 25 years for Benson Fruit Company.
Cecil enjoyed race cars, watching his grandchildren play sports, driving the school bus to sporting events and tinkering in his garage.
He is survived by his wife, Eyrleine Parrish; son, Glenn (Debbie) Parrish of Elroy; daughter, Karen (Dennis) Hubbard of Hillsboro; five grandchildren: Derrick (Jen) Hubbard and their children: Ensley and Annika, Jessica (Tim) Struck, Jonathan (Stephanie) Cleaver and Gunner, Jenna Parrish (Levi) and Preston and Katie Parrish (Jay); niece, Darlene; and nephew, Steven (Debbie).
Cecil was preceded in death by a son, John Michael Parrish; his parents and two brothers: Clifford and Kenneth Parrish.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Cecil's Life will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, with a gathering at the American Legion Hall in Elroy from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
