Jennie Arcaro Obituary

Jennie Marie Arcaro, wife of deceased Washington Post advertising executive Joseph V. Arcaro, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 22, 2024 at her home in Potomac, Maryland.

A native of Washington, DC. Mrs. Arcaro was born on May 30, 1926 and was one of 10 children born to Michelina and Ralph Arcaro of Viggiano, Italy. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, and then an employee of the Hecht Company. She married Joe Arcaro in 1950 and lived in Silver Spring, until they moved to Potomac in 1960.

Jennie is survived by her sister Dorthy DiGiorgi and brother Ralph "Buddy" Arcaro, her children Vincent(Jan)Arcaro, Catherine Lambert, Michelle(Phil)Aldridge. She was the proud grandmother of Alexis (Nick Meyer) Arcaro, Sloane (Ryan) French, Joey Aldridge and Nicolas Aldridge. And the very proud great grandmother of Frankie Jo Arcaro-Meyer, Imogen Roo Arcaro- Meyer, Jackson Hollis French and Georgia Marie French.

Visiting hours Wednesday, August 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. Gawlers Funeral Home and Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Thursday, August 29, 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Christ Child Society of Washington, DC. (christchilddc.org)
