MERRILLVILLE - Kenneth Raymond Ballard, Jr. of Merrillville passed away Wednesday October 9, 2024, at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Kenneth was born November 18, 1972, in Gary, Indiana to Kenneth Raymond and Donna (Lengyel) Ballard, Sr. Kenneth worked for ASC Industries in East Hazel Crest, Illinois. Kenneth was a member of Gracepoint Church and Valparaiso Porter Lodge #137 F&AM.
Ken is survived by his daughter, Shaughnessy Ballard of Merrillville; parents, Kenneth Raymond and Donna Ballard, Sr. of Merrillville; niece, Nikki; nephew, Randy; great niece, Alessia; great nephew, Kaden; and many other relatives and dear friends.
Ken was preceded in death by two sisters, Selena and Shaughnessy.
Visitation will be Sunday October 13, 2024, from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Masonic Service. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m. All services will be held at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana. Cremation will follow.

I just learned of the passing of Kenneth. We are so sorry we were not there for the visitation and funeral. Kenneth always had a place in my mom's (Mary Mastalski) heart as did his beautiful daughter Shaughnessy. We are so deeply sorry for your loss. May he Rest in Peace, and my you find comfort in knowing he is in God's embrace.

Oh Ken my infusion buddy. We shared so many memories about old meetings happy times Phil and I shared with you back in the day. And then one day when I was walking to get into infusion booth someone said Judy turned and there you were. So I joined the booth next to you and we talked about life, you told me about mom and dad and showed me picture of your beautiful daughter. How proud you were of her with the choses she made in her life. Showed me her picture with a big smile on his face. When he introduced me to her in the waiting room. He loved you so much , told him if you ever needed someone to talk to who knew her dad I´m here for you. God bless you and your grandma and grandpa. An NA friend and a his friend with cancer.
