Beverly Ann Washburn Logan was born on July 29, 1940, to John and Genoa Cook Washburn in Gatesville, Texas. She participated in the Bluebirds program and was a Gatesville High School cheerleader. She received the Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow Award, competed in shorthand at the State level and excelled in sewing and typing. She graduated third in her class from GHS in 1958, recognized as receiving the highest grades of any senior her senior year. She married Curtis Dean Logan the same year, and they moved to Fort Worth, where she worked for the engineers at the Texas Highway Department. Two years later, she began working for the Internal Revenue Service in Austin while Curtis pursued his accounting degree at the University of Texas. They moved to Waco in 1962, where she attended Baylor University. During her time there, she gave birth to their daughter, Natalie. She also graduated in 1966 Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Latin and Math. She taught those subjects at Gatesville High School for 16 years, and also coached the tennis team. While teaching, she attended the University of Texas for three summers, earning a Master of Arts in Latin in 1973. After retiring from her career in education, she dedicated herself to supporting Curtis in his career.

Beverly was a clever woman who enjoyed laughing with family and friends. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior. She maintained her hobbies of sewing and tennis for many years and was devoted to botany and the soaps. An avid reader of Smithsonian, Biblical Archeology and Architectural Digest magazines, she had a gift for interior design and fashion. She liked to travel, flying to Europe with her daughter in the 80's and later riding across the country with her husband in the passenger seat of their RV. She took great joy in caring for her four granddaughters and many neighborhood cats, as well as working as a volunteer at the Coryell County Museum. Beverly was known as a great listener, spending hours on the phone with her family. Though she met great medical challenges in her later years, she maintained her sense of humor and positive outlook. She managed a lot and didn't ask for much. She was one tough cookie.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lynn Washburn; infant nephew, Jonathan Washburn and niece, Monique Hawkins.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Curtis; daughter, Natalie Clawson and husband, John; sister, Eloise Smith and husband Lewis; grandchildren, Charis Clawson and husband, Matthew Meador, Joy Clawson and husband, Brett Johnson, Sarah Clawson, and Lena Clawson; nephews Eric Washburn, Patrick Washburn, Aaron Smith and Jeremy Smith; and a grouchy cat named Ebony.

In lieu of flowers, Beverly's family requests memorials be made to the First Methodist Church Beverly Washburn Logan Facilities Maintenance Fund, 2600 E. Main St, Gatesville, TX.
